A Shiny New Learning Site is Born…

Launched this month by one of the most Wonderful people I’ve never met, Mr. Steadman Uhlich, PhotoMentors.com offers a wide range of learning resources aimed at photographers of all skill levels.  This clip from ‘About PhotoMentors’ says it all very well:

Our focus is on what we believe will help you become the best photographer you can be and will give you a strong sense of confidence.  We can help you by guiding you, teaching you, challenging you, encouraging you, and inspiring you.  We expect that you will be willing to try new things and learn more about photography.  We call this approach the “PhotoMentors Way.”

I ‘met’ Steadman through another online resource that I tend to visit on a regular basis.  Through that community, I’ve seen his style and skill in offering critiques on posted works, and even had the great priviledge of having him critique some of my work. It is his approach, and his writing style, where you can almost ‘hear’ the calm, soothing voice of a skilled professor of the creative arts offering up his comments to you over a cup of lemon tea and honey.  I feel that I have a friend in Steady (as he’s known in the community) and even though we’ve never shared more than a few private messages and thoughts online, there is a connection there that I hope I will be able to enjoy for years to come.

And it is his style and approach that make me feel safe in sending you there.  I know from reading his site what PhotoMentors is about, and plan to become an active part of that community most certainly as a learner – as I know we ALL have more to learn – but perhaps also in a role that will allow me to give back some to those just starting out.  But whatever role I take, I do know that Steadman will ensure that his learners are learning from the best that he can offer them.

By offering an open reading library of excellent articles, and a range of services including Tutoring, Teaching and Mentoring, this site promises to help you to reach your goals as a Photographer.  Whether you are embracing the craft for your personal pleasure as an amateur, looking to dive into the professional market, or even a seasoned pro already, you’ll find resources that will help you learn something new, or consider something in a different way from what you do today.  But I don’t want to re-write the entire introduction here, so head on over to the site for more information and learn a lesson every day!

I welcome PhotoMentors to the world and raise my glass in toast to my Dear Friend, Steadman Uhlich, who shall always be a steady voice in my head and a strong inspiration to me in my craft.  Here’s to your success in this wonderful endeavour!

And to you, dear Reader, I invite you to hop on over to see what you can learn today at http://photomentors.com.

Cheers!
